Katarina Nikolov is born and grew up in Skopje, Macedonia.
Likes to see herself as a very curious person, in constant search and exploration of limits within and outside herself. Architect by profession, worked as a Manager for Lease in shopping centers in Macedonia and neighboring countries for 5 years.
Meanwhile and in between projects, freelanced as a graphic designer. Photography is her hobby since teen years, in time it became her necessary expressible tool. Two preferable fields of interest while making the photographic work are big industrial appliances, with a mixture of nature and technology; the man and the machine in a frapping symbiosis. Sizes that impress and the meaning of the human presence.
That would be the subject of her first solo exhibition – a mixture of colour, light and sounds (decoded images into a sound system), kind of industrial landscapes.
Other aspect of her photographic interest is conceptual photography telling personal stories, dreams and fears- as in her second project, a collaboration with the painter Matej Bogdanovski.
She has participated in great number of exhibitions and won several awards.
One of her dearest roles during the last 15 years is teaching art in a primary school for diplomats children in Skopje.:)
